Enmarket Savannah Bridge Run
The Enmarket Savannah Bridge Run is held annually on the first Saturday of December. This incredible event is a huge hit with runners from all over the country who come to conquer what is affectionately known as “The South’s Toughest Bridge Run.” Racers lace up to run across the iconic Savannah bridge, which stretches 1.9 miles across the Savannah River from downtown Savannah to Hutchinson Island. You can compete in a 5k run once across the bridge or a 10k run twice over the bridge. The whole event is a great way to see the city and have a fantastic time. It ends with a post-race party with food and live music. This year’s event is already booked but leave some space open next year in your rental for guests who may come for the event!
Enmarket Savannah Hockey Classic
If you have guests looking for a great family-friendly event, invite them to check out the Enmarket Savannah Hockey Classic. The tournament is held each January, and teams from the University of Florida, Florida State, University of Georgia and Georgia Tech go head to head for two days for the coveted Thrasher Cup. It’s an exciting and fun event for hockey fans to check out!
YMCA Critz Tybee Run Fest
This event is great to share with families visiting Georgia. The YMCA Critz Tybee Run Fest is a family-friendly event for everyone. This incredible event is held each year in Tybee Island and helps to benefit youth programming for the entire coastal Georgia community. It features a kiddie run, a 1-mile run, a 2.8-mile beach run, a 5 k, 10k and a half marathon, so there is a running event for every ability.
Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club
Make sure you leave space open at your vacation rental for visitors coming for the Club Championship this March. This premier golfing tournament is held at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club on Skidway Island. It’s a four-day, 72-hole, stroke-play competition on one of the best courses in the state. For golf lovers, this event is a must-see!

If your guests aren’t staying during one of these events, make sure they have access to the schedules of Savannah’s other major sports teams. There are some great sports and teams that your visitors might love to see live, including the following:
- Savannah Bananas: if you want to have the best time at a baseball game, you’ve got to check out the Savannah Bananas. First off, they play banana ball which is way faster than traditional baseball, they play in kilts, and the team performs choreographed dances every game. It’s a one-of-a-kind sporting experience!
- Savannah Ghost Pirates. If your guest misses the Thrasher cup, make sure they check out Savannah’s Ghost Pirates. Playing in the East Coast Hockey league, the Ghost Pirates are the newest sporting team to call Savannah home.
- Savannah State University: Go Tigers! You can’t go wrong when you check out Savannah State University’s football team, The Tigers. Tell your guests to wear orange and blue to check out the team at the Tiger Den each fall!
